Don't reshoot.... Touch-up!

After Effects can be used for a wide range of tasks. My specialty is seamlessly covering up unwanted trademarked logos, touching up annoying floating debris, a fly that moves across the screen, a bead of sweat that flies off an actor, etc, etc.

*Seamless removal or blurring out of focus of trademarked or copyrighted images, other unwanted objects

*Fixes for continuity, aesthetics, etc.

Examples:

BELOW: Continuity problem: Actor in background was not wearing sunglasses, as he was in all of the other shots.

BELOW: Using a mask (or "cut out") of the sunglasses (from a different angle of the actor in the background) the sunglasses were shrunk to size, rotated as needed, color corrected, edges feathered, and an out of focus effect was applied to compensate for the fact that the actor in the foreground was focused on. This was repeated frame by frame for several seconds, making position, rotation, and distortion effect adjustments as needed as the actor moved. The farther away the easier it is to touch up a shot without being noticeable.

Below: "UPX" needed to be changed to "JPX", "Urban" had to be changed to "Jammin". Below is a comparison of just one frame.

Below: Whiskey bottle label was shot out of focus.

Below: New (in focus) label masks over the old label. As the crutch handle moves across the bottle, the mask shape of the new bottle label changes frame by frame. A shadow from the moving crutch was also created to move over the label. NOTE: This shot has also been color corrected.

BELOW: There is an unsightly crease in the back wall.

BELOW: Crease removed, including as the actor walks into the hall (over the crease) and into the elevator (over the crease).

BELOW: Floating hay debris. Removing lots of debris like this is very time consuming but can be done if you have the budget and patience.

BELOW: Original painting seen on back wall.

BELOW: New painting added, including as the camera panned down from the ceiling.

BELOW: Painting seen in background was NEVER copyright cleared by the "producer / director" (!!!).

BELOW: Close-ups and wide shots (including this one) were replaced with the new painting. Note the dark shadow that was added to the upper right hand corner of the painting.

BELOW: The "U" in the background had to be changed to a "J".   The "U" was moving from left to right.  This was a very difficult fix. Had it been that there was no actress standing in front of the "U" this would have been a vastly easier fix. Instead it took about a week to fix just this 6 second shot! The actress was moving her head slightly. Any time that irregular objects (such as hair) partially cover the object that needs to be masked, it compounds the difficulty of correcting greatly.  The more motion going on the more difficulty as well.  Also when the object that needs to be corrected is closer to the camera then the more difficult it is to correct.

CLICK HERE for a YouTube Video showing the removal of a fly that moved across the screen. Note that I also edited the video and created the audio, including music.

I work with After Effects 7.0 MAC only. Due to gamma correction issues I can only work with video files that came from a MAC and will be imported back into a MAC (ex - MAC Final Cut Pro).  Doing otherwise would result in changes in brightness and color.

Please provide original uncompressed video. It is best to provide the original raw video that has NOT been color corrected.
